Sevenoaks Scouts Cook Pasta Carbonara and Dough Balls

Free27th February from midday to 1:30 pm.
Further possible session 1:30 pm to 3 pm if enough demand. Note carbonara and dough balls can be reheated or even frozen!
To gain your Scout Chef badge you need to:-
- cook a 2-course meal
- complete a skills session that will help you:-
- Plan a menu for a weekend event for between four and six people.
- Understand the dietary needs of the group for cultural, religious or medical reasons.
- Understand how to shop for food and the best way to transport it.
- Understand how to store food properly, hygienically and in ways that prevent food poisoning.
- Explain what you might need to consider if you’re using an indoor kitchen or a camp kitchen.
- Understand and demonstrate the best way to clear up afterwards. Including washing up utensils, pots and pans, disposing of rubbish and leftover food in a way that prevents vermin or disease.
Carbonara Ingredients
100g pancetta/bacon or mushrooms
100g parmesan or veggie hard cheese equivalent 3 large eggs 350g spaghetti 5 large cloves of garlic 150g butter 12 heaped tablespoons of self raising flour 8 tbsp thick plain yogurt salt and pepper 1 large saucepan |
1 large frying pan/wok
1 knife 1 chopping board cheese grater cereal bowl fork 1 mixing bowl baking tray greaseproof paper |
